Advanced Search

The Advanced Search Engine allows selection of one or more Options for One or More Criteria. Each Criteria has a map or a hierarchical list of Options, which can be point and click selected.criteria. Once selected and the search button is selected, the index will return a set of stories meeting Options selected for each Criteria.

Each of these 8 different indices can be defined with a single 64-bit hierarchical key. To give an example, the map Key is a 64-bit word, where the each byte (8 characters) defines:
  • IG1 map grid cells 45°x22.5°,
  • IG2 map grid cells 5°x2.5°
  • IG3 map grid cells 1°x0.5°,
  • IG4 map grid cells 7.5’x3.75’,
  • IG5 map grid cells 50”x25”,
  • IG6 map grid cells 10”x5”,
  • IG7 map grid cells 2”x1”, and
  • IG8 map grid cells 0.05”x0.025”.
This means a single 64-bit word can identify a 5.48 x 3.85 meter grid cell at 45o latitude any place on any planet or asteroid.
